We offer high-grade prescription lenses for all optical and refractive conditions. Our team of optometrists and consultant ophthalmologists are always available to assist you on all optical condition ranging from shortsightness (Myopia), longsightedness (Hyperobia), Presbyopia, astigmatism etc.
Our partnership with ESSILOR Opticals (FRANCE), one of the leading lens surfacing labs in the world for high-quality lenses, allows us provide high-quality lenses treated and delivered within the shortest possible time.
Our Victoria Island clinic also has an optical glazing lab fitted with the most recent Lens glazing machine. This is a digital machine that gives 100 per cent lens cutting accuracy.
THE LENSES WE OFFER INCLUDE:
- SINGLE VISION LENS: These lenses have one power throughout the entire lens. They can be used for sight, reading or both.
- BIFOCAL LENS: These lenses have two segments; one for sight and the other for Bifocal lenses are primarily used for the correction of presbyopia. Our Bifocal lenses are available in three different options; Fused, Invisible and D-top.
- FUSED AND D-TOP BIFOCALS: These lenses have visible demarcation at the lower portion of the lens. The upper portion is for sight, and the lower portion is for reading. The fused has a round visible demarcation, and the D-top has a D shape on the lower segment of the lens.
- INVISIBLE BIFOCAL: These lenses have an invisible distinction at the lower portion of the lens; it is an improved version of the fused bifocal lens.
- MULTIFOCAL/ VARIFOCAL OR VARILUX LENS: These lenses have no distinction and have different powers at various points on the lens. The lens is divided into 3 segments; the upper segment being for sight, the intermediate or middle segment for activities not very close to you like the computer and the lower segment for reading.
ALL OUR LENSES COME WITH SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING PROPERTIES.
- Transition or Photochromic: This property on the lens allows the lens turn dark under the sun. It limits the amount of sunlight entering the eyes and protects you from harmful UV rays.
- Anti-reflective: This is a coating on the lens that protects your eyes by limiting the amount of light glares entering the eyes when using digital devices such as phones, laptops, desktops and tablets. It also helps with glare from oncoming vehicles at night. Some of these lenses come with a greenish hue while some come with a bluish tinge (The bluish anti-reflective is the most recent innovation in anti-reflective lenses. It is known as the cobalt blue anti-reflective lens).
- Polycarbonate: This is an anti-scratch property on the lens. It prevents the lens from getting scratched easily.
- Ultra thin: These are lenses made with special materials which makes the lenses thin. In the case of high powered (index) as a result of a very high lens prescription, the ultra thin lenses are preferable compared to thick lens, because of their cosmetic appeal.
